15. Nolan Originally Didn't Want The Batmobile

It's hard to picture the Dark Knight Trilogy without Batman's Tumbler. Not only is it involved in several terrific action sequences, it just looks totally badass and powerful, a perfect vehicle for Nolan's grounded take on the DC mythos.

But surprisingly, the director originally had no interest in using Batman's famous ride.

While making Batman Begins, Nolan asked the studio what they'd like to see in the film, and they told him that the Batmobile would be a great addition. They didn't force it upon him - they simply said that it might be something to consider.

From here, Nolan said that he'd think about it, even though - in the early stages of development - he "couldn't conceive" of a way to weave the Batmobile into his story. In fact, at that time, he wasn't even thinking about the Batmobile.

Clearly though, he changed his mind, leading to that now-iconic tank-like design. And speaking of which...
