The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ranking The Villains

2. Bane

Another villain from Rises, this time played by Tom Hardy, this may be a controversial choice, but it's one that I stand by. I loved Bane, and didn't have any trouble understanding his voice (a common criticism). He can actually challenge Batman physically, which distinguishes him from other villains like Two-Face, who rely on weapons and challenge him mentally. Bane, like Two-Face, Joker and Ra's, comes out with many memorable quotes that I often say around the house and with mates; additionally he is in many great scenes, including the opening plane set-piece and the football stadium scene among others. Tom Hardy does a great job playing him, because he has to act with his arms, body and eyes, which is a daunting task, but he manages it brilliantly. The acting has always been something great about Christopher Nolan's films, and Rises kept this up in spectacular fashion. Bane was a great villain with a terrific actor at the helm, as I'm sure many will agree.
