6. Casting Will Never Be Right

3cowboys For decades now, fans of the Dark Tower series have been donating their own two cents' worth of casting ideas. From Clint Eastwood to Daniel Craig, Kurt Russell to Viggo Morentsen, Ricky Schroeder to Haley Joel Osment, Ewan McGregor to Aaron Paul, Angela Bassett to Zoe Saldana, there's no shortage of dream casting out there. But will any of it ever be accepted by the fans? Is any one actor just right for these vivid and colorful roles? In order for the Dark Tower movies to be a success, the cast must be supported by the rabid fans of Roland's ka-tet, and it's doubtful that will happen when so many of them fight tooth-and-nail over just hypothetical casting.
