7. The FANTASTIC Ensemble Cast
Whatever you make of the movie, nobody can take away the fact that it boasts one of the most dynamic and exciting ensemble casts of the entire year.
Though led by Holland and Pattinson's "hero" and villain, the film is really focused on a diverse assembly of characters, giving generous amounts of screen time to the vast majority of the cast.
Bill SkarsgÄrd is terrifically tortured in the movie's opening portion as Arvin's troubled father Willard, while Riley Keough and Jason Clarke are terrifyingly unsettling as a serial killer couple, and Sebastian Stan steals every scene he's in as the puffy, doughy corrupt Sheriff Lee Bodecker.
That's not to forget the contributions of lesser-known cast members, namely Eliza Scanlen as Arvin's naive half-sister Lenora, and Harry Melling as the bone-chillingly sick preacher Roy Laferty.
The performances across the ensemble are uniformly strong, and there's not a single weak link in the pack. If nothing else, the film is an outstanding showcase for all these acting talents.
