The Dirt Review: 5 Ups & 7 Downs
3. Some Of The Accents Are Appalling
When Ozzy Osbourne turns up (as played by School Of Rock's Tony Cavalero - the TV show, not the movie), he looks the part from far off and in side profile. There's also a hint of just about the right accent for a while, but the longer he sticks around, the worst his accent gets. Again, it's hard not to think of Spinal Tap.
He's not the worst either, and the most distracting accent goes to Max Milner, the preposterously cast former contestant on The Voice UK who's done no film acting to date. He looks the part as Razzle, the tragic drummer of Hanoi Rocks who died in Vince Neil's car in December 1984, but his accent is horrific. And this is a man from London playing a man from Leamington Spa (brought up in Coventry). He shouldn't have done it that much of an injustice.
There are other times accents wander too, but the main cast mostly do remarkably well, considering only Machine Gun Kelly is American (the others are Welsh, English and Australian). Occasionally, Douglas Booth's accent slips - mostly in voice-over - but it's forgivable.
