5. The Outstanding Supporting Cast

Though James Franco's performance would certainly be enough to carry the entire movie, this film is blessed with an outstanding supporting cast from top to bottom.

Dave Franco of course gets the most prominent role, almost as significant as his brother's, as Greg Sestero, and brings a real humanity to the "character", who is desperate to make it in Hollywood and often finds himself torn between the call of Hollywood and his friendship with Tommy.

Seth Rogen and Paul Scheer also give terrific performances as The Room's script supervisor and cinematographer respectively, while the film is absolutely littered with cameos. The film's opening sequence includes a highly unexpected appearance from one of cinema's most successful blockbuster directors, and throughout the film there are a ton of blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameos from much-loved actors.

That a movie about the creation of "the Citizen Kane of bad movies" roped in so much Hollywood talent is, frankly, staggering.
