The Equalizer 2 Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

3. It's Full Of Savage One-Liners

Though Richard Wenk's screenplay doesn't push the boat out when it comes to its plot, it does serve up a ton of delicious one-liners for Denzel to chew his way through.

For instance, when faced with a gang of assailants, he calmly tells them, "My only regret is that I only get to kill each of you once." And in another instance, he greets a room full of gangsters with a put-down so righteously savage it won't be spoiled here.

A lot of the credit goes to Washington for his brilliant delivery - at times chillingly detached and others hilariously charming - though the dialogue as written has an undeniably pulpy appeal.
