The Eternals: Everything You Need To Know

4. They Could Introduce Other Marvel Characters

By now you've probably gathered that the Celestials are a big deal. They mapped the cosmos, wielded weapons of immense power and gave birth to various species, including everyone's favourite Marvel team, the X-Men.

During the genesis of the Eternals, Deviants and Humans, the Celestial known as Oneg introduced the X-Gene to humanity, thus creating mutants. Daredevil Season 3 has so far been the only MCU project to include a small hint towards the X-Men, but fans have already speculated that the Celestials could be used to introduce mutants into the franchise proper, although perhaps at a much later point in the timeline than was initially envisioned.

There is also the matter of Venom. It's still up in the air as to whether or not Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters (no, we don't like the acronym either) is connected to the MCU, but if they were to take inspiration from a recent Venom comic - one that wove the character's origin with both Thor and the Celestials - then Marvel would have the perfect means to introduce the character.

Put simply, The Eternals film could yet provide the blueprint for Marvel to incorporate their new acquisitions, all whilst telling a brand new story revolving around an obscure mythology. What's not to love?
