1. It'll Be Better Than The Last Fantastic Four Film

Let's take a trip back through the mists of time, to an age only dimly remembered now: 2005. That was the year Fox made their first crack at a Fantastic Four film, directed by Tim Story, starring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. Despite some pretty perfect casting and genuine talent and enthusiasm on Story's part, it was absolutely bloody awful. It may have stuck to the comics in some trivial ways, but it was at the expense of what actually makes The Fantastic Four great. It had that stupid joke that was an excuse to get Jessica Alba in the nuddy €“ such a hit, it returned in the sequel €“ and the special effects were mostly awful. Doctor Doom had electric powers for some reason, and was played by the guy from Nip/Tuck. Something to bear in mind, regardless of how this new take on The Fantastic Four eventually shakes out, is that there is categorically no way it can be as bad as the last Fantastic Four movie. Or its sequel, Rise Of The Silver Surfer. That's probably not a great reason to be optimistic, but it's a reason nonetheless. Whether it can reach the heights of Roger Corman's unreleased nineties version of the Fantastic Four, though? Well...
