The Flash: 10 Reasons It's Awful

1. The Third Act Is A Disaster

And finally, what is the biggest problem with superhero movies right now? One could definitely argue that it's bad final acts, and sure enough, The Flash is the latest to commit this common mistake.

As mentioned earlier, the emotional resolution does work, but the rest of the final act is a bit of a trainwreck. It's an ugly, weightless and staggeringly dull slice of CGI porn that flippantly kills off both Supergirl and Batman and also inflicts upon us that woefully misjudged multiverse scene that will linger as one of the worst moments in a cinematic universe that's not exactly short on bad scenes.

It's ironic that the film features Michael Shannon's General Zod returning from 2013's Man of Steel, as this finale has a lot in common with that first movie's awful CGI action scenes.

It's this dreadful climax that really cements The Flash as a cinematic failure and one that's quite possibly even worse than the MCU's multiversal exploration, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - and that movie was bloody terrible.

The Flash was the very last thing the DCEU needed right now, but looking on the bright side, with James Gunn in charge hopefully duds like this will become a thing of the past for this cinematic universe.
