The Flash: 10 Reasons It's Awful
5. The Cast Is Completely Wasted
It's nothing unusual for a modern superhero film to waste many great actors. In fact, pretty much all of them do that. The Flash does stand out as a particularly bad case though, since the only actors who feel utilized properly are Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, and Ben Affleck, who has a small but effective role at the beginning of the movie.
Other than that, the less said the better.
Returning from some of the previous films, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Temuera Morrison and Jeremy Irons are all squandered on meaningless cameos while Michael Shannon (returning as General Zod) somehow gets even less to do, despite being the closest thing the film has to a main antagonist.
Additionally, the great Sanjeev Bhaskar, complete with a dodgy American accent, is given a useless part as Barry's boss, and although Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdu do fine work as Barry's parents, they don't get enough screen time to really make their mark.
