The Flash: 10 Ways Ben Affleck's Batman Could Be Written Out Of The DCEU

4. His "Knightmare" Comes True

Regardless of whether Barry feels he has to rescue Bruce or he just forgets him after forging a new world through the Speed Force, bringing everything back to Batman v Superman's "Knightmare" vision could tie up some loose ends and help us make sense of some confusing continuity issues.

Zack Snyder is unlikely to ever get the chance to continue his Justice League plans in a sequel, but he's previously indicated that the movie was going to take place in that desolate future where Superman had fallen to Darkseid's mind-controlling Anti-Life Equation. When Bruce saw Barry in Batman v Superman, the Scarlet Speedster had travelled too far back in time to warn him of his future.

Well, this movie can easily tie things together with a couple of handy retcons, explaining what happened that day and revealing that "Knightmare" is one of many possible alternate futures. Unfortunately for Batman, however, it could be where his destiny lies, and Barry may have to come to terms with the fact he was unable to save him being obliterated by that evil Superman.

Josh Wilding hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
