The Flash Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

5. It's Full Of Fun Surprises

If the fan-serving elements eventually cross the line, there's still a ton for DC fans to feast on here. And while the marketing has spoiled some of the surprises, there's also a lot which hasn't been given away for free and should leave fans hollering with delight.

A few genuinely shocking cameos nobody could've seen coming are sure to be the biggest talking points coming away from the film, but it's also a movie packed to the gills with visual Easter eggs and wink-wink nods to the wider canon.

If you can accept The Flash as a last-ditch, throw-everything-at-the-wall effort to give the DCEU its own take on Spider-Man: No Way Home - albeit decidedly more rough around the edges - then there's plenty to enjoy here, even if little of it is likely to have any lasting impact.
