3. The Chaotic, Annoying Editing

Though there are a few mildly intriguing action beats throughout the film, unfortunately most of these sequences are undermined by an abundance of jarring, irritating editing choices.

Given that the movie was edited by recent Oscar nominee Tatiana S. Riegel (I, Tonya), one can only assume that Álvarez didn't give her much coverage to work with in the edit bay, because the set-pieces end up choppy as hell.

Following on from Fincher's masterfully-helmed action in the previous film, this just doesn't even remotely measure up.

Whenever Lisbeth ends up caught in a fistfight, there are often multiple cuts per second, ensuring it's difficult to figure out who is who and how characters have spatial relations to one another.
