The Good Dinosaur: 22 Easter Eggs & References You Probably Missed
3. The Bird In-Joke
Following on from the Jurassic Park references, it seems that The Good Dinosaur at least partly follows the same teachings as Dr Alan Grant - in terms of his theory on birds anyway. The raptors are shown to be far more birdlike than their counterparts in Jurassic Park - including having feathers - and as a further nod to the theory, it seems that birds have consciously been chosen not to evolve to use the power of speech unlike dinosaurs and they seem to have a natural gift for terrorising them (almost as if they would literally make the extinct if they got the chance). There's also a very definite nod to Kevin the Snipe in Arlo's family chickens: they're over-sized and aggressive and dumb just like she is.
