The Good Dinosaur: 22 Easter Eggs & References You Probably Missed

2. Newt

Is that multi-coloured critter included in The Good Dinosaur as homage to cancelled Pixar property Newt? The blue feet certainly seem like a bit of a give-away, even if the rest of the colour scheme is a bit off. But you can forgive the difference: The Good Dinosaur has a much more photorealistic approach to the smaller, non-talking creatures (which makes that moment when Spot bites the beetles head off somewhat less murderous). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4LQ_Qe-k5I There's also a second lizard based nod: the iguana that Spot presents to Arlo as a peace offering and to help feed him looks an awful lot like the secondary antagonist from Toy Story Of Terror.
