15. What's In A Name?

Though it seems that Arlo and Forrest Woodbush trade silly names without prejudice when trying to get Spot to respond and claim him as their own, there is reasoning behind some of the choices. Violet was obviously a character in The Incredibles, but that's unlikely to be a conscious reference point, but Grumpy definitely is. This is Disney after all. And at one point Arlo suggests he should be called Spike, a reference to classic dog flick Old Yeller, which Pete Sohn admitted was a big influence on him in making The Good Dinosaur.
