The Hangover Part 3: 5 Reasons It's Hard To Be Optimistic

1. It Looks Like It€™s More Of The Same

Hangover Part 3 As I€™ve said, this was the biggest problem of The Hangover 2 and it currently looks to be the same for Part 3. The trailer€™s not giving much away but we know that there will be scenes set in Las Vegas, that Mr Chow, Jade, and Black Doug will all return, and that there€™s a scene involving wacky antics with an exotic animal. Plus the organised crime elements of the sequel€™s plot seem to be getting a re-airing and Alan€™s long term abuse of Roofies is said to be a key plot point, leading him to being put in a mental institution. The film€™s director Todd Philips has publicly said that the amnesiac hangover story of the first two films won€™t be used here but despite this, it kind of looks like the film they€™ve produced is borrowing a large amount from the first two films. Whether we€™ll be seeing repeated gags like Stu having some kind of dalliance with a prostitute and reused plot points like something stupid Alan says later becoming crucial to the film€™s resolution remains to be seen but it currently looks like a fair bit will be taken from the first two films. Which is what killed the second film and has the potential to kill this one. Obviously, I could be completely wrong about all of this and The Hangover 3 might be an absolute cracker. I€™m perfectly willing to withhold my final judgment until I see the film in its entirety but on the evidence we€™ve got so far, it€™s not looking good. Still, only time will tell. Come on, Warner Bros, surprise me. Are you looking forward to The Hangover Part 3? Leave a comment...
