The Hangover Part 3: 5 Reasons It's Hard To Be Optimistic

2. The Hangover 2 Was Terrible

thehangover Admittedly, a film won€™t necessarily be as bad/good as its predecessor or its successor but if The Hangover series€™ first attempt at a sequel is anything to go by, it€™s not looking good. The Hangover 2 was basically a carbon copy of the original film but with the basic elements taken up a notch. And I€™m just talking about the overall plot. The jokes get repeated pretty much exactly except set in Bangkok and made a bit more crude. For example, in the first film the Wolfpack wake up to find themselves with a baby. Alan then jokingly makes it look like the baby is masturbating. In the sequel, they find out they have kidnapped a monk and Alan uses a water bottle to make it look like the monk has an erection. There was just nothing really original to it in terms of plot or jokes. It was essentially the first film but ruder and set abroad. The writers played it safe by copying the first film and making a bit more risqué. Which is a very bad sign for Part 3. It just wasn€™t inventive or funny because we€™ve seen it all before. Which brings me to my final point...
