The biggest of these surprises came when it was announced that Tarantinoverse neophyte Channing Tatum was cast in the film. While his character is not one of the titular eight, it is rumored that his role is "pivotal". Could be interesting... Another Johnny-come-lately to the QT scene is Mexican actor Demian Bichir. Bichir, who was a regular in the Showtime series Weeds and starred in Machete Kills, will appear as Bob "The Mexican"; one of the eight. Bichir typically brings a dark intensity to his roles (something not typically lacking in Tarantino films), so he should fit right into the family.
