THE HOBBIT Teaser Trailer Coming At Christmas

Andy Serkis says we can expect the trailer to hit before the year is out.

Andy Serkis has told IGN that we can expect a teaser trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (and maybe it's sequel) to hit before 2011 is out. Serkis, who once again reprises the performance capture of Gollum and has actually worked as second unit on The Hobbit films said;
"There will be a trailer fairly soon, actually. Around Christmas time, I believe."
The Hobbit is a Warner Bros film so there's a couple of likely candidates the teaser could be attached to. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows opens on December 16th in both the U.K. and the U.S. so that should be favourite, though it could also/instead be attached to U.S. prints of The Adventures of Tintin that opens just before Christmas because of the Jackson (producer)/Serkis (actor) connection. Of course there is always the possibility of them going the IMAX route with Paramount's Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol as WB have already done with six minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises. Either way we have a huge treat coming this Christmas from New Zealand, especially if it's anything like the trailers for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJo84rOuOXs The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is due to open in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on December 14th, 2012 with the second part The Hobbit: There and Back Again coming December 13th, 2012.
