Rick Sands who is the chief operating officer (cool title) of MGM has been speaking about some of the company's future projects at a ceremony for
Slyvester Stallone yesterday at the Orlando World Marriott Center. On the topic of
Terminator 4 he mentioned that it won't be titled that, or simply T4 but instead will be
"Terminator blah blah, not Four," also hinting that a new guy will be taking over the role of The Terminator from
Arnold Schwarzenegger...
"It's like the 'Batman' or 'Superman' franchise in that it lends itself to having different actors in the roles," Sands also mentioned that talks are currently taking place between MGM and New Line regarding
The Hobbit and that a sequel to
The Thomas Crown Affair is likely to happen with
Pierce Brosnan reprising his role as the lead. Glad to hear that things are moving along in regards to The Hobbit. With The Terminator though I have to disagree with the guy. The role is nothing like
Batman or
Superman...... Arnie IS the Terminator, there is no other form to this character. It's like
Bruce Willis is
John McClane or Slyvester Stallone is
Rocky.... you can't imagine anyone else playing that role. Batman and Superman were roles in comics first so they can easily be assigned a different actor to play the part, The Terminator is a different situation all together. I'm not saying it can't be done but I don't think it's as easy as he is making it out to be. source -
