There seems to be few high profile roles for young actresses that Shailene Woodley hasnt been linked to in recent years, having auditioned for the Katniss role and cited as the preference of author E.L James for the role of Anastasia Steele in a film adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey. After playing bit parts in an assortment of television series for nine years, the twenty-one year old scored her first leading role in ABC Familys The Secret Life Of The American Teenager, playing the role of Amy Juergens from the series inception to its recent cancellation after five seasons on the air. It would seem that she has a bright future, given her casting as Mary Jane Watson in the next Spider-Man movie, where she and Emma Stones Gwen Stacy will presumably compete for Andrew Garfields affections.
