5. Lyndsy Fonseca
Every time viewers watch an episode of How I Met Your Mother, the CBS sitcom more notable for the actions of supporting character Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) than leading man Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), they are greeted by a brief showing of Lyndsy Fonseca as one of future Teds children, to whom he is telling the titular story The small role was one of her first in the business in 2005 following a four-year stint on a soap, though due to ageing, scenes involving her for the series finale, due to air next year, were filmed several years ago. Fonseca has supplemented this with predominantly television roles, though notable cinematic appearances have included Hot Tub Time Machine and Kick-Ass. Recurring roles in Big Love and Desperate Housewives pre-empted her casting in The CWs Nikita in 2010. Around the same time, Fonseca was sent the script for The Hunger Games, auditioning for the lead role despite being twenty-four at the time, something that may have worked in her disfavour.
