2. The Relationship Between Peeta & Katniss
The relationship between Peeta and Katniss has always been a troubled one, from the second they were each forced into entering the 74th annual Games to the moment they got inside, they were expected to kill each other. But of couse, things didn't go according to plan and the duo were each drawn to the other, a relationship forged. Peeta loves Katniss but Katniss still has feelings for Gale Hawthorne, her friend and hunting partner back home. Yet the two tributes are about to be forced together once more because now, the residents of the Capitol are wrapped up in their "undying love story" having witnessed them openly defy President Snow. To them, this is romantic, and their public show of approval for the duo is the only thing stopping Snow from killing them both. Now, they must pretend that they're in love, pander to the people of the Capitol, and hope they can save them from Snow's wrath. But does Katniss really love Peeta, or is she using him? This is yet another intriguing sub-plot we can't wait to see explored in Catching Fire.
