1. It Looks Like Staying True To The Book
"The book is better". This is a phrase you have liekly heard uttered a hundred times when it comes to watching a film adapted from a novel, as is the case with the Hunger Games. Personally, I enjoyed the books, having read the trilogy of Suzanne Collins' novels, and felt as though the first film didn't stay true to the books enough. For instance, the books were incredibly violent and much more graphic, while the film, despite being produced by Lionsgate, famed for the ultra-gory
Saw franchise, was comparatively tame. I ended up wanting more violence than what was actually depicted - I mean come on, this is a fight to the death! Think Battle Royale, but much meeker, and that's ultimately what
The Hunger Games film became. However, having said that, the second film,
Catching Fire, looks like staying true to the novel this time round. The District uprising was a predominant feature in the book and it looks like being so in the film, too, based off the trailer. We can only hope this means there will be more violence in the series, and if so,
Catching Fire is going to be awesome.
Are you looking forward to the Hunger Games: Catching Fire? What did you think of the trailer?
