Another day, another remake!
Variety reports that
Rogue Pictures have begun production on remaking the
Wes Craven classic
The Last House on the Left. The movie, which was released in 1972 was Craven's first feature film and made an estimated $13,000,000 on a $87,000 budget. The remake currently has no director but Craven will be on board for producing. Some plot details of the original from
coming soon...
"In the film, a pair of adventurous teen girls are kidnapped, raped and murdered by a gang of thugs. The killers unwittingly hole up in the home of one victim's parents, who, upon realizing what their guests did, devise gruesome revenge". I must admit I have never seen the original but I know it has a huge cult following and was responsible for starting Wes Craven's career, who would later go on to make the classics
A Nightmare on Elm Street,
The Hills Have Eyes and
Scream. Anyone seen the original, is it as good as it's hype? I might try and get a copy of this in the near future. source -
