4. The Gang Visits The Year 20013

Upon arriving in this dystopian hell-hole that used to be L.A., Fin and Skye are greeted by an army of robotic Aprils and flying robot sharks.

They're taken to the army's leader, and this is where it gets a bit confusing. The leader is the robot April head from earlier in the movie, who was abandoned by Fin underwater after real April and Nova were eaten by sharks.

Robot April spent centuries inventing time travel, taking 10,000 years to forgive Fin and another 10,000 to create her "paradise". She eventually saved real April's life by travelling back in time, though only in order to harvest her DNA to create her robot clone army.

Robot April also needs Fin's DNA to create robot clones of him and make her paradise perfect. Naturally, he's not too keen, especially once Skye ends up frozen in a carbonite-looking substance.
