The LEGO Movie 2 Trailer: 7 Easter Eggs & References You Might Have Missed

Although Mad Max seems to inform most of the aesthetics of the beginning of the trailer, there's another piece of set design used later in the trailer that, once again, seems inspired by recent movies.

When the alien probe comes to Brickburgh, it explores a distant ruined town that bears more than a passing resemblance to a ruined Las Vegas in Blade Runner 2049.

The orange and dusty hue used throughout, the toppled skyscrapers, the reclaiming of the desert by the sand, all seem very familiar to those who've seen the movie.

This part of the trailer even has those "BWOOOMs" in the soundtrack, a stereotype of Hans Zimmer who composed the score for Blade Runner 2049.

I'm based in the UK, looking to make a career out of writing about entertainment and culture. The only thing I like as much as watching films, playing games or listening to music is enjoying as much hummus and crisps as I can while I do so. My favourite film is Eddie the Eagle and I like any game that lets me wander around beautiful worlds (or eat hummus and crisps).
