When Thor: The Dark World was being mapped out, the aforementioned Malekith wasn't in the conversation. Instead, it was Hela, the Goddess Of Death, who filled the role of main antagonist in writer Don Payne's early pitches.

However, as the book explains, this plan was vetoed when Marvel Entertainment grew concerned that female action figures wouldn't sell as well as male ones.

This is also why Iron Man 3's Maya Hansen had her role diminished - she was also supposed to be the main villain, but was eventually superseded by Aldrich Killian.

On the plus side, we did get to see Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett bring Hela to life in Thor: Ragnarok, so better late than never!

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
