The Marvels Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

1. It Teases Some Interesting Future Possibilities

No spoilers here, but in the very least The Marvels manages to avoid feeling like a totally inessential MCU film because it teases some genuinely tantalising possibilities for the future.

The film's final scenes - and particularly a genuinely startling mid-credits scene - make a motivated effort to start laying the track for future attractions.

And though things may naturally be subject to change given the MCU's rather rickety standing at present, these teases should excite those who've felt that the last two phases were majorly lacking in direction.

But of course, two enticing teases can't really compensate for a movie's many deficiencies, and it remains to be seen whether their payoff will actually live up to the potential. Here's hoping.
