4. What Happened To Smith At The End?
One of the strangest decisions at the end of the movie is the sudden absence of Smith, who after helping save Neo and Trinity from the Analyst simply disappears out of the story without any indication of where he's going.
This is totally wide open, really: the Matrix is under the control of Neo and Trin at the end of the film, and while Smith was clearly as happy as anyone to see the Analyst defeated, will he end up coming into conflict with his old nemeses once again?
It's an odd thread to leave hanging in the air given the likelihood that this could very well be the final Matrix movie.
