17. Neo Looks Like A Balding Old Guy To Everyone Else
One of the strangest and most enticing visuals from the film's trailers was the glimpse of Neo looking into a mirror and appearing to resemble an older man, some even claiming he looked like Hugo Weaving's Agent Smith.
Well, we now know what this weirdness is all about. Sort-of, anyway.
Bugs explains that the Machines found a way to hide Neo by altering his "digital self-image" (DSI) to make him look totally different to everyone who meets him in the Matrix. And so, when Bugs shows Neo a mirror, he resembles an older balding man not like himself.
When Neo notes that 20 years have passed going by the aged appearance of his DSI, Morpheus then breaks the news to Neo that actually 60 years have passed since the events of The Matrix Revolutions.
