3. Magik And Cannonball Teaming Up

One of the other New Mutants to get the live action nod is Magik, who also happens to be the sister of Colossus in the comics. While the familial tie is yet to be established in a cinematic sense, there's plenty more to Illyana than her ties to the main X-Men group, as we'll no doubt see in the upcoming film.
Blessed with the ability to teleport through space and time, Illyana is also something of a sorcerer, possessing an enchanted weapon in the comics called the Soulsword. She's one of the group's finest fighters, and while she didn't get as much screentime in the trailer as her fellow comrades, we do know that she'll be teaming up with Cannonball at some point, and perhaps interact with that creepy looking demon... thing as well.
Anya Taylor-Joy will play the character onscreen, following on from a brilliant performance in 2016's The Witch that already illustrated (quite tremendously) her horror credentials. As far as New Mutants go, Magik has to be the one to keep an eye on. Not only is she being played by a brilliant actor, but she's also one of the most interesting members of the group off the page too.
