The Predator: 14 Easter Eggs & References Explained

1. The Predator Killer = Iron Man

The film of course concludes with the utterly ridiculous reveal that the fugitive Predator left humanity a weapon, The Predator Killer, which can be used to fight off the incoming fleet of Predators keen to claim Earth as their own.

The weapon ends up clinging to a scientist's wrist and transforming into a gigantic, metal armoured suit resembling the design of the Predator, complete with comically gigantic cannons.

The comparisons to Iron Man are self-evident, from the sheer array of weapons attached to the suit to the fact that it forms over the body much like Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) new Bleeding Edge armour in Avengers: Infinity War.

It's all the more pointed when you remember that Shane Black himself directed Iron Man 3 - likely the movie that won him this directing gig, in fact - and he clearly took more than a little inspiration from it when preparing The Predator's outrageous sequel-bait stinger.
