The Single Biggest Mistake Each MCU Film And TV Show Has Made

23. Black Panther - The Painfully Bad CGI

Avengers Endgame Thor

There was quite a bit of hyperbole written about Black Panther at the time - largely due to how culturally important it was as such a successful black blockbuster - and perhaps the film was overhyped a bit, but you know what? It's still really, really good. It's a punchy, powerful and superbly-acted superhero flick that ranks among the MCU's finest. But... that CGI? Good lord.

The CGI in this movie is truly ghastly and looks like something from a low-budget video game. There's more than enough great stuff in the movie to compensate for this problem several times over, but it is undeniably distracting, especially on repeat viewings.

The film received seven nominations at the Academy Awards and thankfully, Best Visual Effects wasn't among them. If Black Panther had got a nod in that category, it would've been among the stupidest Oscar nominations of the last few years, and that is really, really saying something.
