The Single Greatest Thing In Each James Bond Movie
1. No Time To Die - Bond's Death
No Time to Die is, just like Quantum of Solace and Spectre, a mixed bag that does some things absolutely brilliantly... while it completely drops the ball in other areas.
A year removed from its release, it's a mid-tier Bond film at best. It's way too long, the plot is full of holes even by Bond standards, and it's always going to be hard to forgive the film's disgraceful treatment of Blofeld - killing him off unceremoniously and then swapping him out for one of the worst Bond villains of all time.
Nonetheless, its ending scene - in which the film does the unthinkable and kills off James Bond - is close to perfect.
A beautifully bittersweet, flawlessly acted and achingly moving ending further buoyed by Hans Zimmer's brilliant musical score, this entire scene is completely stunning and it makes what was actually a fairly average movie seem far better in retrospect.
From the very beginning, one of the greatest strengths of the James Bond series has been to craft epic and brilliant movie moments that leave you unable to look away and No Time to Die, flaws and all, showed that the franchise's ability to do this was still more than intact even after 60 years.
