The Suicide Squad: Every Actor Who Also Appeared In The MCU
4. Taika Waititi
Ratcatcher 2 is perhaps the best part of The Suicide Squad.
Taika Waititi, the Oscar winning writer and director of Jojo Rabbit, portrays her father and predecessor, Ratcatcher. Ratcatcher doesn't appear in The Suicide Squad for long, only in a pair of flashback scenes. His first scene showcases his relationship with his daughter, and his second explains his fascination with rats. In Waititi's sole line of dialogue, he beautifully explains: "Rats are the lowliest and most despised of all creatures, my love. If they have purpose, so do we all."
Waititi lends his talents to Marvel as well both in front of and behind the camera. Waititi acts as the voice of Korg the Kronan in Thor: Ragnarok, which he also directed. Korg provides comic relief for the already hilarious Thor threequel, with his humorous wholesomeness contrasting his rocky exterior. Waititi reprises the role of Korg in Avengers: Endgame, and will return to the role in Thor: Love and Thunder, which he will also write and direct.
Marvel or DC: Though Ratcatcher's one line is quite beautiful, it pales in comparison to the poetry that is Korg screaming "Piss off, Ghost!" In fact, Marvel ought to earn double points for Waititi's work as a director and an actor.
