The Suicide Squad: Every Character Explained

5. Blackguard

As with Flula Borg, Pete Davidson's name didn't quite fit with some of the others on the ridiculously impressive cast list for The Suicide Squad. This is unlike anything the SNL regular has ever done, but clearly James Gunn believes he can offer a lot to the movie as the villain, Blackguard.

Thanks to the green costume, there were many that thought it would be Nathan Fillion bringing Blackguard to life, but it has now been confirmed to be Davidson. Surely, this means that the character will act as comic relief for at least some of the story.

The character, typically a nemesis of Booster Gold, is something of a mercenary, armed with a suit of armour, powerful weapons, and super strength, and has had a run in with Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad previously.

Brought in a muscle for the team on a mission, the reformed villain was ultimately betrayed and beheaded by a character named The General. Make sure you brace yourselves whenever Pete Davidson shares the screen with Joaquin Cosio or Juan Diego Botto, as chances are it could be Blackguard's last.
