The Suicide Squad: Every Character Explained

17. Amanda Waller

Suicide Squad Peacemaker
Warner Bros.

Amanda Waller is one of the few characters who won't be making their DCEU debut with The Suicide Squad, having appeared in David Ayer's outing in 2016. There were very few positives to come out of the movie, but without doubt, one of the greatest aspects was Viola Davis' performance.

We all know exactly who Amanda Waller is, the no nonsense, stone faced mastermind behind the Task Force X programme. This was how she was used by David Ayer, and it's hard to imagine there will be any deviation from James Gunn.

Davis will once again bring Waller to the table as the team's fearless leader, and absolute authority figure. With her moral compass open to drifting between what is best for the squad and her own personal interests, the woman who knew Batman's true identity will be a wildcard in 2021.
