The Suicide Squad Review: 9 Ups & 1 Down

7. Idris Elba Steals The Show

The entire ensemble cast is so great in this movie that it's tough to pick out an MVP, though if pushed, it'd have to be Idris Elba.

While audiences might understandably assume Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) to be the de facto main character, that honour really falls to Bloodsport (Elba), the interminably exasperated mercenary keen to deny that he's a natural born leader and, underneath all that bloodshed, not an entirely terrible person.

Elba, who has been squandered in so many blockbuster movies over the years, gets a beefy lead role and sinks his teeth down deep into it, in turn delivering surely the funniest and most entertaining big-screen performance of his entire career.
