The Turning Review: 3 Ups & 5 Downs

2. Brooklynn Prince And Barbara Marten

The Turning
Universal Pictures

A couple of the film's performances are actually rather impressive: those of the charming Brooklynn Prince as Flora, and Barbara Marten as stern housekeeper Mrs Grose.

For the most part, Prince is very believable and unsettling in her role, and she's one of the very few saving graces of the film. She nailed the perfect balance between innocent and corrupted; of naive and knowing more than she lets on.

Marten gives the strongest performance of the film, even with the dreadful material she has to work with. Without her, The Turning would have felt a lot more amateurish than it already does, if that's possible.

Olivia Bradbury hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
