The Wolverine: 10 Ways It Shreds X-Men Origins To Pieces

7. Wolverine's Character Development

The Wolverine While Origins was too pre-occupied with establishing itself as a prequel and explaining every worldly consequence that befell Logan over the years - such as where he got that damn jacket - The Wolverine does a far better job of placing us inside the beast's head, as he finds himself haunted following Jean Grey's death. Several flashback sequences, though signposted and a little obvious, make it clear how much Logan is suffering, and how it bothers him that death is a constant presence in his life. Origins failed to make the most of its brotherly bond with Liev Schreiber's Sabertooth, eschewing character development in favour of illogical action and a plot that scarcely made sense at best, or infuriated fans at worst.
