The World's End Review: 10 Insane Things You Won't Believe

2. The Pubs

The fictional town of Newton Haven in the movie was largely created by filming in both Welwyn Garden City and Letchworth Garden City. Rather than simply use the pre-existing pubs - such as, say, The World's End that does great business in Camden - Edgar Wright decided to outfit each pub with a new name for added amusment: The First Post is actually The Peartree The Old Familiar is The Doctors Tonic The Famous Cock is The Cork The Cross Hands is The Parkway Tavern The Good Companions is Wendy's Shop The Trusty Servant is Three Magnets The Two Headed Dog is The Colonnade, The Mermaid is Broadway Cinema The Beehive is Thai Garden Restaurant The King's Head is The Arena Tavern The Hole in the Wall is Railway Station The World's End is The Gardener's Arms
