The World's End Review: 10 Insane Things You Won't Believe

1. It's Inspired By Real Events

At last week's world premiere, Edgar Wright revealed that The World's End is, at least in shell form, based on a real-life pub crawl the director attempted with some of his friends in the 1990s. Wright said of the experience, "The pub crawl idea is something that had been been gnawing at me for a long time...I had tried to do it in my home town in Somerset - which is actually the place where we shot Hot Fuzz - and had failed miserably at the age of 19. It was a particularly memorable night even though I'd only got through six of the 15 pubs." Furthermore, in the spirit of replicating the feeling of the movie's repeated pub crawl, Wright invited all of the original pub crawlers to the premiere of the movie. Wright said, "Two of them I haven't seen in over 10 years. It's going to be amazing." Looking forward to The World's End? Seen it yet? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
