The Worst Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

11. Octopussy - Tarzan Yell

The World Is Not Enough
MGM

Octopussy is one of the worst James Bond films thanks to its goofy set-pieces and prioritisation of silly jokes over any actual thrills. As such, there are quite a few misjudged scenes in this one.

There's Bond running around dressed up as a clown in the finale, General Orlov's idiotic demise, Bond using one of Q's cameras to zoom in on a woman's cleavage and even Bond handing an Indian man money and saying "Keep you in curry for a few weeks, won't it?"

Still, there is something even worse than all of that: while escaping from the main villain through the jungle, Bond swings through the trees and... lets out a Tarzan yell. Yes, really.

This gag is beyond cringe-worthy in every single way and it's yet another overly silly part of this film which makes it impossible to take seriously. This truly is a franchise low-point and a perfect representation of what made the Roger Moore era so inconsistent - too many silly jokes, which then killed off any potential suspense.
