The Worst Moment Of Every James Bond Film - Ranked

20. From Russia With Love - Gypsy Fight

The World Is Not Enough
United Artists

Well... that aged badly.

From Russia with Love is a tremendous thriller that is as short on bad scenes as you'd expect, but there is one rather dreadful moment in the middle of the film.

Bond and his ally, Ali Kerim Bey (Pedro Armendáriz), visit a gypsy camp at one point and there are two women there who are fighting each other over who gets to be with their mutual lover - either until death or until one of them submits. It's uncomfortable to say the least; even Bond expresses a heavy disapproval of the fight and he's not exactly the most progressive of people.

It gets even worse when, after Bond saves the life of the Gypsy chief, the chief rewards Bond by deciding the matter of the girl fight. It's then implied that Bond has a three-way with the two women.

Even ignoring how dated and groan-worthy it is now, the film as a whole would've been improved had this subplot been removed, since it slowed the whole thing down.
