21. The Middle Is All Over The Place - Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2 has a really solid first act. It sets up the villain's motivation, Robert Downey Jr. is his usual charming self, and we get a kick-ass fight between Iron Man and Whiplash.
But after that, it feels like the film doesn't know what to do. In the second act, Stark learns his arc reactor is burning out, he becomes a drunk, fights with Rhodey, creates a new element, Whiplash escapes jail, Rhodey becomes War Machine, Nick Fury unsubtly teases The Avengers, and Black Widow... is there.
Even though a lot of stuff is happening, it's boring, since the film can't focus on any plot point for more than a few minutes.
