22. It's Too Generic - The Incredible Hulk

After the travesty that was Ang Lee's Hulk, the 2008 remake played it safe by showing the Hulk doing what he does best; smashing stuff. The action is solid, the CGI is dramatically better than the previous entry, and Edward Norton is well-cast as the Jade Giant. Also, The Incredible Hulk never gets enough credit for NOT being an origin story!

So, why is The Incredible Hulk remembered as a misfire? In a nutshell; it's too generic. All the tragedy and pathos you'd expect from the Green Goliath is absent, making it a run-of-the-mill monster movie. It's clearly better than the original but it pales when contrasted to the rest of the MCU.
