Thor: 10 Times The MCU Movies Were Better Than The Comics
9. He's Efficient Without His Powers
Even though Thor's most notable mortal form is Donald Blake, he's had several others, including architect Eric Masterson and paramedic Jake Olsen. These three identities were quite different but they all share one trait - they're not fighters. Unless they called upon the power of Mjolnir, they couldn't hold their own in battle.
When Thor lost his powers in his debut film, he felt weak for the first time in his life. Even though he slaughtered Frost Giants by the dozen the day before, he could now be rendered unconscious with a single punch from a mortal.
Although this experience made him vulnerable, he was far from helpless. While seeking out his hammer, Thor proved tactical, resourceful, and strategic. Even though he lacked his Asgardian strength, he overpowered a group of secret agents all by himself, thanks to centuries of battle experience. (It probably helped that he's built like ten bodybuilders put together.)
It was great to see this side of Thor in his first cinematic appearance since it proved that, despite his immense strength, he is not defined by godhood.
